Fabrication & Lab Lead
Enabling prototyping and making
As ASTRAEUS expands into labs and prototyping, we are seeking a Fabrication & Lab Lead to help establish and operate these environments.
This role is hands-on and technical, focused on enabling others to build, test, and experiment.
You will help define the tools, workflows, and culture of making within ASTRAEUS.
Responsibilities
Set up and manage fabrication spaces
Support users with tools, materials, and processes
Maintain equipment and safety standards
Assist with prototyping and experimental builds
Help evolve lab capabilities over time
Ideal Background
Experience with fabrication tools (wood, metal, digital fabrication)
Familiarity with 3D printing, CNC, or similar technologies
Strong problem-solving and hands-on mindset
Interest in interdisciplinary work
Engagement
Part-time or contract initially
Expands with lab growth
